Bibliometric analysis of business intelligence (BI) combined with artificial intelligence

In this paper, we use bibliometric methods to search a total of 2,325 documents indexed by SCI - EXPANDED and SSCI between 2015 - 2025 with the core collection of Web of Science as the data source, and obtain 700 valid documents after data cleaning, and synthesize the tools of VOSviewer and CiteSpace to analyze the combined field of business intelligence (BI) and artificial intelligence (AI) from multiple dimensions, such as institution, country, keywords, and so on. The combined tools of VOSviewer and CiteSpace are used to analyze the combined field of Business Intelligence (BI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) from multiple dimensions, such as institution, country, and keywords. At the institutional level, the performance of some universities is outstanding, but cross-institutional collaboration needs to be strengthened; at the country level, the United States and China are leading in the number of papers published, and all countries are working together to promote the field; and the co-occurrence of keywords shows that the core hotspots are related to multiple fields. The number of publications has increased significantly since 2019, and the timeline graph and keyword emergence show the evolution of research. This study provides a reference for future research in the field of business intelligence and AI convergence, presents the dynamics of the field in a comprehensive way, and provides a direction for future research on the application of emerging technologies and the convergence of multiple fields.
