A Target Direction Estimation Method via Sum-Difference Monopulse in Multi-Mainlobe Jammings

In this paper, the mainlobe jamming (MLJ) suppression and radar target direction estimation are studied. We propose a target direction estimation method via sum-difference monopulse in multi-mainlobe jammings. The MLJs can be suppressed by spatial adaptive subarray processing performed along column and row. Then, the target azimuth and elevation can be estimated with monopulse direction estimation method.

Abstract

In this paper, the mainlobe jamming (MLJ) suppression and radar target direction estimation are studied. We propose a target direction estimation method via sum-difference monopulse in multi-mainlobe jammings. The MLJs can be suppressed by spatial adaptive subarray processing performed along column and row. Then, the target azimuth and elevation can be estimated with monopulse direction estimation method.
