Research on the Method of OTA Upgrade Program for Satellite Communication Antennas

The increasing functional complexity of satellite communication (SATCOM) antennas has rendered the upgrading of their software systems particularly critical. Conventional methodologies necessitate exposing the control DSP's JTAG interface, requiring dedicated emulators for program deployment. To simplify upgrade operations, an over-the-air (OTA) program upgrade method is proposed utilizing SATCOM links. The proposed method implements a completely independent design philosophy between the upgrade subroutine and antenna control program, enabling simultaneous compatibility with multiple controller area network (CAN) interface and serial communication interface (SCI) without requiring modifications to the antenna control program. This method effectively overcomes geographical constraints while demonstrating enhanced flexibility and high reliability in practical implementations.
