SIW Dual-band Slit Antenna for Interference Suppression in Satellite Communications

This paper presents a K-band slit antenna that can effectively avoid interference in the 20.05-20.74 GHz satellite communication band. The antenna is based on a substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) and is fed through a grounded coplanar waveguide (GCPW). Compared with the conventional slit antenna, the modified slit antenna introduces a new resonance point and incorporates an arrow-shaped slit that significantly improves the matching performance of the antenna and increases the radiation efficiency of the antenna while maintaining stable radiation characteristics. The measured results show that the antenna has a simulated -10 dB impedance bandwidth of 8.3% (18.46 GHz ~ 20.05 GHz) and 7.0% (20.74 GHz ~ 22.24 GHz), respectively. The peak gain can reach 10.91 dBi. This antenna has the advantages of high gain, wide frequency and high performance. These excellent properties make this antenna very suitable for K-band satellite wireless communication system.
