Research on Economic Dispatch of Microgrid Based on Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

The microgrid is a microsystem consisting of distributed power sources, loads, energy storage devices and control systems. The combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) microgridhas important research significance and broad application prospects in cost saving, energy conservation and emission reduction. The economic dispatch issue of CCHP microgrids continues to be a key area of research in various microgrid domains. The economic dispatch model of microgrid is proposed in this paper, and its optimization framework primarily focuses on reducing overall system expenditures, encompassing generator fuel consumption costs, distributed power facility maintenance fees, and expenses from energy transactions with central grid networks. The constrained conditions include the constraints on electric power balance, thermal/cooling load equilibrium requirements, nodal energy conservation rules, and micro-generation unit operational boundaries. The particle swarm algorithm mimics avian swarm feeding patterns to globally identify near-optimal configurations. The methodology demonstrates superior convergence properties relative to conventional gradient-based approaches, owing to its reduced parametric sensitivity and enhanced exploration capabilities. It is used to solve the economic dispatch model of microgrid in the paper. The effectiveness of the proposed model and solving algorithm was verified through example simulations.
