Hydrogen Powered Electric Vehicle Charging Station
Electric vehicles (EVs) gained acceptance in recent years as a sustainable benign and economically feasible alternative to automobiles powered by internal combustion engines for minimizing dependency on fossil fuels and hazardous substances. However, growing popularity raises concerns about increased power demand, which may have an impact on system stability. The centralized system may have an overload issue if it is required to deliver more energy, in which case alternate solutions are required. Power control in a hybrid microgrid based on a 50 kW PV system and a 180 kW PEMFC for EVCS is shown in the study. This work emphasizes on the challenges during voltage and frequency regulation in the proposed FC-PV isolated microgrid in presence of EV charging station. The proposed work an EV charging station is taken into considered which can facilitate simultaneous charging of multiple vehicles. The EVs are linked to a DC bus at the station, which houses a single inverter. The many techniques involved in regulating the system voltage and frequency while charging electric vehicles are discussed in this article. The proposed system is subjected to variable irradiance and multiple EV switching and the performance of the control structures and the converters are evaluated. The power sharing is also shown in this article. MATLAB/Simulink platform is used for mathematical modeling. The working model is evaluated using the OPAL-RT 4510 realtime simulator and the outcomes are represented in this article. The results show the feasibility of the proposed working model.
