An Artificial Intelligence Technique for MPPT Algorithm for a Grid Connected Three Phase PV System
In the implementation of a grid-synchronized three-phase photovoltaic (PV) system, a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) scheme utilizing a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) is employed. This artificial intelligence technique aims to extract the maximum output power from the PV system. The system leverages the Instantaneous Reactive Power (IRP) theory to generate reference currents of inverter for synchronization with the grid. To ensure accurate tracking of the reference and actual inverter currents, a hysteresis controller is used. The combined solar PV and grid system is modelled and simulated in MATLAB/Simulink. For comparative analysis, the fuzzy logic control scheme's performance is evaluated against the incremental conductance method in implementing the MPPT algorithm. The THD of grid current is obtained 3.6 % which is within 5 % and is within the permissible limit. Furthermore, the system's performance is assessed and validated through experimental setups for the solar PV system and 99% maximum output power is obtained.
