A Study of High-frequency Class-E Amplifiers Based on Expanded Bandwidths
With the popularization of modern communication devices and the advancement of CMOS processes, low-power high-frequency operational amplifiers have become a crucial component of modern electronic systems. In this paper, a design scheme based on a class-E amplifier is proposed to optimize the power conversion efficiency and enhance the high-frequency performance. The Class-E operational amplifier operates in the switching mode, which effectively improves the transmission quality of high-frequency signals and reduces the power loss by adjusting the load network and designing the filter network structure and optimizing the parameters. In this work, a double-ended differential input, single-ended output class-E amplifier is designed, and its effectiveness in the high-frequency (3.9MHz) operating condition is verified through simulation and waveform test, and the designed band-pass filter passes over the frequency range of 60Hz-6MHz. The experimental results show that the Class-E amplifier can filter out the high harmonics under the premise of high efficiency, and output a stable sinusoidal signal, which has high signal transmission quality and low power loss. With high signal transmission quality and low power consumption, it is suitable for high-frequency and low-energy applications such as wireless communication and audio processing.
