Design and Simulation of a DC Microgrid Based on Wind Power Generation for Enhanced Energy Quality
With the rise of environmental awareness in recent years, the use of renewable energy has become a critical focus and a longstanding challenge for countries worldwide. Consequently, numerous laws and regulations have been implemented to promote low emissions, reduced power consumption, and high efficiency. An effective strategy for achieving these goals is the utilization of microgrids that rely on renewable energy sources and energy storage systems. In this paper, a DC microgrid based on wind power generation is established. A wind power generation system with a wind turbine emulator (WTE) driving a switched reluctance generator (SRG) will be introduced. To maintain the power quality of DC microgrid, a battery energy storage system (BESS) and uninterruptible power system (UPS) is applied. The advantages of employing BESS and UPS will also be explained in detail.
