A Fully Integrated ClassAB Based Low-Power Voltage Driver

This paper presents a Class-AB-based reference driver designed to address the challenges of high power consumption and limited driving capability in conventional reference circuits, particularly under low-voltage conditions. Traditional reference drivers often rely on bandgap references or operational amplifiers to provide bias currents, which significantly increases static power consumption and necessitates high bias current designs. To overcome these limitations, the proposed design employs a self-biasing branch to minimize quiescent power consumption while utilizing a push-pull structure to deliver high dynamic drive current. Fabricated using a 180 nm CMOS process and operating at a 1.8 V supply voltage, the proposed driver achieves an instantaneous drive current of up to 10.1 mA with a quiescent current below 30 μA, making it suitable for high-speed load charging and discharging in low-power applications.
