Extended Kalman Filter-Based Speed Sliding Mode Position Sensorless Control in PMSM
This article delves into the challenges of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) in speed control, particularly the complex and costly installation of mechanical position sensors. To tackle these issues, we present a sensorless control approach for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that employs the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). This strategy achieves sensor-free control and significantly streamlines the architecture while cutting costs. At the same time, in view of the shortcomings of the traditional speed Proportional Integral (PI) controller in terms of dynamic response, this paper innovatively introduces the speed Sliding Mode Control, which significantly enhances the robustness of PMSM and enables it to maintain stable control performance in the face of external disturbances and parameter changes. In order to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method, this paper conducted a series of simulations in MATLAB/Simulink to demonstrate the efficacy of our method. The experiments clearly validate that our approach markedly enhances PMSM control performance.
