EXPORT OF KYRGYZSTAN: CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES

The article is devoted to the analysis of the dynamics and structure of Kyrgyzstan’s exports in the period from 2020 to 2024, revealing the key challenges and prospects for the country’s foreign trade activities. Based on the data from the statement of the Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic and UNCTAD, the author of the study examines the contradictions: a steady increase in trade turnover against the backdrop of persistent deficits and raw material dependence. Particular attention is paid to the transformation of the geographic and commodity structure of exports, including sharp fluctuations in gold supplies, a surge in the re-export of textiles and equipment, as well as the reorientation of trade flows under the influence of sanctions and logistical crises. The results of the study highlight the vulnerability of the Kyrgyz economy to external shocks due to the concentration of exports on a limited range of goods and markets, as well as the need for diversification to improve the trade balance. The conclusion identifies potential growth points associated with the development of processing industries and strengthening regional cooperation.
