Developing the Optimal Cross-Matching Algorithm for The Gaia And BDB Data

Depending on the method of discovery of binarity, data about such stars are included in different catalogues of observational parameters, dedicated catalogues and have a number of identifiers in different systems. The major problem that appears when merging information from different catalogues is that each set of data may use a different star designation system, so that a given object may have up to ten or more different names. The Binary Star DataBase ((BDB - http://bdb.inasan.ru)) was created to eliminate the above-mentioned problem. Identifiers are linked to the corresponding objects using the index-catalogue named Identification List of Binaries (ILB), which is part of the BDB. This catalogue needs to be regularly updated to reflect progress in observations and astronomical data processing. This work is dedicated to developing an algorithm to enhance ILB data with the data based on Gaia results.
