RZ Psc: Accretion onto A Young Star on The Late Stages of Pre-Main Sequence Evolution
In this talk we discuss the process of accretion onto RZ Psc: a relatively old T Tauri star with an age of ≈ 20 Myr. At this age the accretion process is almost completely ceased, which is confirmed with spectral observations. However, sometimes we can see significant accretion signatures in the spectra of the star: an emission in H. line with typical form of the line profile. Such burst of accretion activity happened in November, 2013. The spectra of the star during this episode was obtained with the Keck telescope. We successfully modelled the Hα profile and determined the parameters of the magnetosphere formed. Accretion rate was obtained to be ≈ 10−10 MꙨ/yr, an order of magnitude larger than the estimates for the rate in the normal state of the star. The obtained value for the magnetosphere radius, together with the accretion rate, yielded the estimate of the surface magnetic field of the star ≈ 0.1 kGs to the order of magnitude.
