Atomic Gas Near S254—S258
Observations of atomic gas in the S254-S257 star forming complex based on GMRT and Arecibo observations are presented. The presence of atomic gas shells near the HII zones is shown. The mass of gas associated with the shells is estimated at 1–10 MꙨ. The mass of gas observed in the direction of the complex is estimated at ∼ 3 000 MꙨ. The S255-S257 shells have a wall thickness of 0.1-0.3 pc. The shell is more compact and brighter in the direction where molecular gas is present nearby. The shell walls are observed mainly in the image plane. The S254 shell is fragmentary and has no clear boundary. Some of the radiation is observed spatially and kinematically within the HII zone.
