Gravitational Fragmentation of Molecular Filament with Magnetic Field
We model gravitational fragmentation of cylindrical molecular cloud with large-scale magnetic field with numerical code FLASH. Simulations show that initial perturbations lead to formation of equally-spaced clumps according to the wavelength of initial perturbation. Gravitationally-bound clumps are formed when the initial perturbation wavelength is close to or exceeds critical value. Critical perturbations lead to the formation of the cores with size 1 700 au. Supercritical perturbations lead to the formation of the cores with size of 8 000 au. Sizes of cores insignificantly decrease with increasing initial perturbation wavelength.
