Relationships Between Probation Youth Violent Behavior and Delinquency Triggers

This study empirically examined the mediating effect of perceived seriousness of corrupt practices on the relationship between awareness of anti-corruption systems and the intention to report corrupt acts in the Korean sports sector. Utilizing secondary data from the 2021 survey on corruption in sports and related system improvements conducted by the Korea Institute of Criminology and Justice, a structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis was performed on 203 sports professionals. The results showed that awareness of anti-corruption systems did not have a statistically significant direct effect on the intention to report, nor did the perceived seriousness of corrupt practices have a significant mediating effect. However, certain demographic factors such as educational background and field of activity significantly influenced reporting intention. The findings suggest that, to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption policies in sports, systematic education and awareness-raising about the seriousness of corruption should accompany efforts to increase institutional awareness.
