ASSESSMENT OF THE DAILY INTAKE OF LEAD BASED ON SANITARY AND HYGIENIC REQUIREMENTS AND FOOD CONSUMPTION STANDARDS

The article presents calculations of the daily intake of lead based on food consumption standards and sanitary and hygienic requirements of the Russian Federation and the European Union (EU). It is shown that for the population of the Russian Federation and the EU, the daily intake of lead is 13,7 and 3,4 μg•kg -1 body weight, respectively. The low levels of daily lead intake in the EU countries are due to stricter sanitary and hygienic standards. To harmonize the sanitary and hygienic requirements of the Russian Federation with international standards, it is necessary to determine of safe level of daily intake of lead and specify the maximum permissible levels in soil, drinking water, food and feed for farm animals and poultry.
