Methodology development for assessing the seismic impact of industrial explosions on coal mining areas
Introduction. Industrial explosions used in the coal industry pose a serious threat to occupational safety and the environment. The need to monitor and assess the intensity of explosions is due to the need to minimize the negative impact on the environment and prevent accidents. Materials and methods. The seismic monitoring system “SibgeoPhys” was used to develop a method for analyzing and assessing the intensity of industrial explosions. The system consists of a network of seismic stations equipped with velocimeters – ground displacement velocity sensors. The data obtained from the velocimeters were analyzed using the processing algorithms developed within the framework of this work. Results. The developed method allows assessing the intensity of explosions based on data on the vibration velocity of ground oscillations. The obtained data were compared with the parameters of ground movement during earthquakes of varying intensity, according to GOST R 57546-2017 “Seismic Intensity Scale”. The methodology includes two key components. Seismic activity monitoring: automatic processing of data from seismic stations, allowing to determine the explosion intensity in points according to GOST. In case of exceeding the permissible level of seismic impact (I = 2.5 points), the system automatically notifies the dispatcher. Seismic event classification: a binary classification algorithm that allows to distinguish seismic events caused by explosions from events of a different nature (e.g. wind loads, rock cracking). For classification, the characteristics of the density of the statistical distribution function of the seismic signal, such as asymmetry, kurtosis and variation coefficient, are used. Discussion. The obtained results confirm the effectiveness of the developed methodology. Automatic monitoring and assessment of the intensity of industrial explosions allow to increase the safety of work and compliance with the requirements of environmental legislation. Conclusion. The developed methodology for analyzing and assessing the intensity of industrial explosions in open-pit coal mines is a tool for improving labor safety and minimizing the negative impact on the environment. Resume. The method allows monitoring seismic activity and determining the intensity of industrial explosions. The binary classification algorithm allows effectively distinguishing explosive and non-explosive seismic events. The application of the developed method provides a more accurate assessment of the seismic impact of explosions on the environment, increasing the safety of work and compliance with environmental legislation. Suggestions for practical applications and directions for future research. The developed method can be implemented in open-pit coal mines to improve safety, efficiency of mining operations and minimize the negative impact on the environment. The results of the study can be used to optimize blasting parameters, as well as to create an early warning system for the threat of exceeding the permissible level of seismic impact.
