Design and Application of Physical Layer ACK frame for WiFi to ZigBee Cross Technology Communication
In the 2.4GHz ISM band, mutual interference caused by the competition of channel resources between various wireless communication technology with different protocols is increasingly serious. Therefore, in order to reduce these interferences, Cross-Technology communication (CTC) is a promising technology. It can allow devices with different communication protocols to communicate directly without hardware modification, which can reduce excessive waste of resources. Current research mainly focuses on how to achieve information transfer, but little attention is paid to the design of the ACK frame in cross-technology communication. In this paper, we propose a new method to obtain the best ACK frame from WiFi to ZigBee CTC. we found that the combination of digital emulation and the concept of TwinBee can greatly reduce the the BER of ACK frame. The combination of these two methods can alleviate QAM mapping errors, CP errors and boundary errors caused by CTC hardware restriction, that the Bits Error Rate (BER) can be reduced to 16. 41%. With DSSS in ZigBee protocol, it can greatly ensure the success rate of ACK signal reception, which Symbol Error Rate (SER) can be reduce to 0.0001%. This has not been attempted in previous PHY-CTC studies.
