Harmonic Analysis of Boost Inverter for Grid Application

This paper delves the design and analysis of a boost inverter, which includes the functions of a boost converter and an inverter to efficiently step-up DC voltage and convert it to a high-quality AC output. The boost inverter is specifically beneficial in applications where the input DC voltage is low, such as photovoltaic systems, battery-powered devices, or fuel cell systems. The proposed inverter utilizes a high-efficiency boost inverter to increase the input voltage to the desired level. Key performance metrics such as voltage gain, efficiency, and output waveform quality are analysed. The designed boost inverter converters the given input voltage of 24 V and converter into sinusoidal voltage of 52V. A simulation model is implemented using MATLAB/Simulink, and results show that the boost inverter achieves voltage gain as boost DC-DC converter and low total harmonic distortion (THD), illustrates its potential for use in renewable energy applications and other low-voltage DC systems.
