OSPF-Driven Assessment of SSTP, PPTP, and L2TP/IPSec VPN Protocols for FTP-SFTP Services
Secure communication is crucial in modern organizations due to the evolution of business and the increasing demand for technology. VPNs like SSTP, PPTP, and L2TP/IPSec offer secure data transmission routes. However, many studies lack comprehensive evaluations of performance and security, particularly in identifying protocol vulnerabilities. Tests on FTP and SFTP under traffic loads showed that L2TP/IPSec delivers the best QoS and security performance, followed by SSTP. PPTP is faster, but more vulnerable to sniffing. FTP outperforms SFTP in speed, while SFTP offers enhanced security with a slight performance trade-off. L2TP/IPSec is the optimal choice for secure, stable and fast connections.
