Can AI improve individual employee performance?
This article examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on individual employee performance within an organizational context. Positioned as a key driver of improvement, AI operates through specific mechanisms. A comparative study was conducted using a between-subjects design, contrasting a group utilizing AI tools with a control group. The findings, validated through a pseudo-panel regression employing the differences-in-differences method, reveal a significant improvement in performance among the AI-exposed group. This led to the identification of a positive relationship between the adoption of AI tools and employees' perceived individual performance, although the precise nature of this performance remains undetermined.
