Impact of Feeder Length Variation on Microstrip Antenna Performance at 2.4 GHz for Bluetooth Applications

This study presents the impact of feeder length variation on the performance of a microstrip antenna designed for Bluetooth applications at 2.4 GHz. The antenna was structured using FR-4 substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.3, was designed and simulated using CST Microwave Studio software. The feeder length varied from 7.5 mm to 10.5 mm to study its effect on parameters performance such as return loss, bandwidth, Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR), gain and radiation pattern. The results indicate that feeder length significantly impacts the antenna's performance. From the result obtained, the optimal feeder length at 7.5 mm achieved the best performance. The return loss at 7.5 mm is -27.730 dB, bandwidth is 0.802 GHz, VSWR is 1.085, and the realized gain 2.405 dBi, which is suitable for Bluetooth applications.
