HBF Implementation and Multi-Beam System Testing with a Compact Sparse Array Designed for the U6G Band

In this paper, a compact sparse array is designed for the upper 6 GHz (U6G) band, specifically optimized for the 6.5-7 GHz band. Based on this array, the hybrid beamforming (HBF) algorithm is implemented, and its performance is validated through system testing. The test results indicate that the S-parameters and radiation pattern of the designed sparse array meet the expected specifications. The received signal is demodulated and analyzed for characteristics, and key communication metrics are tested. The results show that, with the optimization of the HBF algorithm, the system’s signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is improved by about 7.3dB, the bit error rate (BER) is reduced by about 95%, the mean squared error (MSE) is reduced by about 82%, and the spectral efficiency (SE) is improved by about 55%. This system exhibits excellent signal quality and spectral efficiency, making it well-suited for multi-beam communication scenarios in the U6G band.
