DefenSys: A Comprehensive Management Information System with Integrated Decision Support

This study developed the “Army Reserve Command Management Information System with Decision Support” to improve the administrative operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reserve Command. The current manual system for managing reservists creates inefficiencies in data handling, document processing, and decision-making. Using an Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, the system was designed to streamline these processes and enhance statistical reporting and data consolidation. A developmental research approach was employed to guide system development, with descriptive research collecting feedback from system users, including administrative staff, reservists, and IT professionals. Respondents evaluated the system based on ISO 25010 software quality standards, focusing on functional adequacy, performance, usability, security, and maintainability. Tested at the 301st (NEC) Community Defense Center in Cabanatuan City, the system received positive feedback, showing high levels of user satisfaction and technical acceptance. The findings indicate that this system will significantly improve the AFP Reserve Command's administrative efficiency, modernizing operations and aligning with the organization's goals of readiness and responsiveness to future challenges.
