Geoinformation technologies in the underground urban studies

Introduction. The use of geographic information technologies (GIS) in underground urbanism makes it possible to store and update both current and historical data, creating a comprehensive information base for analyzing the development of a city, linking its underground and above-ground parts. Thanks to the rapid availability of a variety of information and powerful analytical tools, specialists can explore alternative development options, assess the risks and benefits associated with them, and, consequently, develop more effective strategies for the sustainable development of the city, including vertical planning. Objective. Analysis of existing problems of the urban environment based on the use of GIS and optimal solutions for their elimination in assessing the compatibility of new underground construction projects with existing infrastructure and their compliance with regulatory requirements. Methodology. The analysis of modern problems of the urban environment is carried out on the basis of a set of methods for assessing the natural risks of territorial objects. For this purpose, two directions are used: the introduction of engineering safety systems and geoecological monitoring at all stages of the life cycle of an underground facility, including long-term, medium-term and short-term forecasts of their occurrence. Results and discussion. The impact of the risk factor under consideration leads to a deterioration in the operating conditions of an underground facility or territory during the established period of implementation of the investment project. Probabilistic methods, based on geometric probability ratios, are used to assess the likelihood of exposure to risk factors in the project area. The proposed approach based on the use of GIS is aimed at improving the quality of pre-investment research. This will significantly reduce the risks that arise during the subsequent stages of the project. Conclusions. The use of modern information technologies in underground urbanism has allowed us to propose an innovative approach to risk management, which consists in modernizing models designed to assess risk factors that affect management decision-making and financial efficiency of the project. The integration of GIS into project management systems improves information support and improves the quality of management decisions.
