Investigation on salt corrosion resistance of bioinspired robust slippery and superhydrophobic surface of Al-Mg alloy

Aluminium-magnesium alloys are widely used in the fields of automobiles, architecture, healthcare, and electronics. The surface facial mask can effectively inhibit the direct contact between the metal substrate and the corrosive medium, thus reducing the corrosion rate and preventing corrosion. Based on biomimetic principles, this study used a hybrid method of laser texturing and surface spraying to prepare a superhydrophobic surface with a micro grid 'container' structure, in which FAS/SiO2 nanoparticles were embedded and injected with silicone oil. Verify through wear tests that the surface has good wear resistance. We also studied the effects of scanning frequency, scanning spacing, and scanning speed on wettability. Pure Al-Mg alloy, superhydrophobic surface, pure slippery surface, and slippery and superhydrophobic surface samples were subjected to action potential polarisation experiments (PDP) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests (EIS) in a 3.5 wt. % NaCl solution to compare their corrosion resistance and analyse their corrosion resistance mechanism.
