Optimized Control of Self-Sustaining PV Based SRM Drive with Seven-Level Converter
A reliable and affordable water pumping system is proposed for communities without grid access, leveraging solar power, a switched reluctance motor, and advanced power conversion technology. A novel control strategy is developed to optimize the performance of the proposed water pumping system, ensuring maximum PV array power extraction and balanced capacitor voltages under various operating conditions. This strategy incorporates online flux optimization and singlepulse mode operation for the SRM drive, eliminating the need for phase current sensors The system’s performance is validated through MATLAB/Simulink simulations and experimental results. The simulation for this study was conducted using PSCAD/EMTDC software and performance of this proposed converter have been analyzed and presented in detail.
