Secure Healthcare Authentication Protocol for Healthcare System with Modified Elliptic Curve Cryptography with Logistic Chaotic Encryption
The rapid adoption of cloud computing in healthcare has revolutionized medical data management that enables seamless storage, accessibility and sharing of patient information among authorized entities. Still, the security and privacy of sensitive healthcare data remain major concerns due to the risk of breaches, unauthorized access, and cyber threats. Traditional encryption algorithms have the challenges of balancing security, efficiency, and computational overhead while considering the resource-constrained healthcare systems. To address the challenges, this research proposes a secure healthcare data-sharing framework that integrates Modified-Elliptic Curve Cryptography (m-ECC) with Logistic Chaotic Encryption algorithm. The hybrid approach enhances security using the lightweight m-ECC with enhanced cryptographic capabilities. The proposed method ensures secure data sharing with minimal encryption and decryption time. Simulation and analysis demonstrate that the m-ECC with logistic chaos hybrid encryption achieves superior security with reduced encryption time, decryption time and computational cost, of $13, \mathrm{~s} 15 \mathrm{~s}$, and 21.452 respectively.
