A simulation Study and Enhancing Power Quality in Transmission Lines Using VSC-Based DSTATCOM
Ensuring high power quality in modern electrical systems is critical due to the increased presence of non-linear loads and sensitive equipment. This paper presents A Simulation Study and Enhancing Power Quality in Transmission Lines Using Voltage Source Converter (VSC) Based Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) using MATLAB Simulink, focusing on enhancing power quality in distribution networks. This paper deals with measuring and analyzing harmonic content, examining the impact of voltage fluctuations, and mitigating issues related to voltage sags and swells using with and without DSTATCOM. Through systematic simulation, the study evaluates the performance of the VSC-based DSTATCOM in reducing Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and managing non-linear load effects. The results demonstrate that the proposed system significantly improves power quality and enhances system reliability, indicating that VSC-based DSTATCOM, supplemented by passive elements, is an effective solution for maintaining stable power delivery in dynamic electrical environments.
