Reputation-Driven Communication Optimization for Wireless Edge Data Verification
Wireless Edge Intelligence (EI) networks face significant challenges in verifying data integrity across distributed edge servers while minimizing communication overhead. Existing decentralized approaches require individual verification of each data item, resulting in excessive wireless transmission overhead and latency for large-scale deployments. This paper proposes ReBatch, a novel reputation-driven approach for efficient batch verification of data integrity in wireless edge environments. ReBatch introduces a reputation-aware Combination Selection Algorithm (CSA) that efficiently addresses the NP-hard set cover problem in polynomial time, enabling the verification of multiple data items in a single wireless communication round. By strategically selecting edge servers based on both data coverage and historical reputation metrics, ReBatch reduces wireless communication complexity from O(n) to O(1) per verification batch. Experimental results across diverse wireless edge topologies demonstrate that ReBatch achieves 99.9% verification precision while reducing communication overhead by 99.7% and verification latency by 99.8% compared to state-of-the-art approaches.
