ASSESSMENT OF POST-VACCINATION IMMUNITY OF ROTAVIRUS INFECTION IN CALVES
The article presents the results of studies aimed at determining the level of post-vaccination antibodies to rotavirus infection in calves. It is shown that the Rotavec Corona vaccine, when administered to dry cows 25–30 days before calving at a dose of 2 ml intramuscularly in the neck area, established that the average antibody titer produced in cows when using the Rotavec Corona vaccine is 71 %, using the Combovac vaccine twice – the first time 50–60 days before calving, the second time 14–21 days later. The average antibody titer was 24 %. It was noted that when using Combovac, the percentage of antibodies in cows is produced in a wide range, from 7 % to 83 %, which indicates the instability of the vaccine. In a comparative aspect, the Rotavec Corona vaccine was more effective than the Combovac vaccine in the prevention of rotavirus infection in cattle.
