COMPUTER MODEL OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS OF A DEVICE FOR PROCESSING SEEDS WITH CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL PREPARATIONS BASED ON A COMBINATION OF DISCRETE ELEMENT METHODS AND TWO-PHASE “GAS – PARTICLE” FLOWS

The article presents the results of numerical modeling of the alfalfa seed treatment process with biological products using the coupled DEM-CFD approach in the Rocky DEM and ANSYS Fluent software packages. The simulation allowed us to evaluate the interaction of the liquid phase (biopreparation) with solid particles (seeds) in an experimental scarifier. The hydrodynamic parameters of the system were investigated, including the flow rate of the biological product, the trajectories of seed movement and their distribution in the treatment area. The results showed that the Rocky DEM and ANSYS Fluent software coupling method is effective for analyzing seed treatment processes, which can be used to optimize the design of the scarifier and reduce energy consumption.
