Comparative Evaluation of Laser-activated In-office Bleaching at Different Wavelengths Using Different Commercially Available Bleaching Agents: A Spectrophotometric Study

IntroductIonDentists today strive harder than ever to provide their patients the "ideal smile" due to rising patient demand for cosmetic dentistry.Teeth discoloration at the front of the mouth is a cosmetic issue that needs to be addressed.Currently, microabrasion, bleaching, and the use of laminate veneers or jacket crowns are the only therapeutic options available. 1Porcelain crowns are the most reliable option for restoring the appearance of a severely stained tooth. 2 However, since crown placement is irreversible, a growing number of patients prefer less invasive options, including bleaching and veneer implantation, to avoid having their teeth "carved down" for crowns. When it comes to reducing or removing stains on functional teeth, bleaching is the most accessible, widely used, and less invasive option.Advancements in bleaching techniques have significantly enhanced treatment outcomes.Laser-activated bleaching, in particular, has gained attention for its ability to accelerate the whitening process while ensuring uniform results. 3Lasers work by activating bleaching agents more efficiently, which can reduce treatment time and improve patient satisfaction. However, factors such as the wavelength of the laser and the composition of the bleaching agent play a crucial role in determining the effectiveness and safety of the procedure. 4

Abstract
