Using Nearpod to Develop Writing Fluency among EFL students

This study investigated the effect of using the Nearpod learningplatform on developing English writing fluency among adult EFLlearners in a blended learning environment. The researcherdeveloped a list of writing fluency components. Based on this list,a pre- and post-writing fluency test and a rubric for evaluating thestudents’ writing fluency qualitatively were designed. In addition,a writing fluency program was designed using Nearpod. Apurposive sample composed of 15 Egyptian EFL second yearstudents at the faculty of Education- Ain Shams University, agedbetween 19 and 21, was selected to participate in the study. Theparticipants were engaged in the program’s interactive andstructured activities through the Nearpod program. Pre- and posttests were administered, and the collected data underwent bothquantitative and qualitative analysis. The findings revealed that theNearpod program had a significant positive impact on developingwriting fluency of the EFL undergraduate students.
