Threshold Processing of Radio Signals Based on Wavelet Analysis
The development of efficient algorithms for digital signal processing in real time, based on modern computing methods, is an integral part of information transmission systems. Such real-time processing algorithms require the use of effective and economical (from the point of view of technical resources) basic methods: signal filtering, spectral analysis, etc. The development of methods for processing and restoring transmitted signals with low distortion is one of the important tasks of digital signal processing during transmission over radio channels. Wavelet analysis is one of the most powerful and flexible methods of processing radio signals. And the most well-known signal processing using wavelet analysis is threshold processing, applied at reception to suppress noise in the received signal. The article considers the basic principles of radio signal formation under harmonic and random modulating influence; the basic principles of threshold signal processing based on wavelet analysis and evaluation of the processing quality. A subsequent comparative analysis is also carried out for two selected types of radio signal by determining the mean square value and signal/noise ratio.
