Research Methods of Assessing the Efficiency Information Protection Systems in Multiservice Communication Networks

The efficiency indicators information security systems and multiservice communication networks based on modern information and network technologies are analyzed. This paper examines the tasks studying methods for assessing the efficiency of information security systems in multiservice communication networks. The paper proposes a generalized structural diagram of a multiservice communication network to describe the methods for calculating the security system. Based on the study, a new approach to creating a method for constructing a threat model adapted to assessing the damage from a destructive action and the risk created by the potential of a suspected intruder in multiservice communication networks is proposed. Based on the considered method for forming a rational set of information protection tools, which are based on achieving a sufficient level efficiency determined by the criteria marginal costs and the risk of functioning of communication networks.
