Evaluation of Pilots’ Flight Control Performance under Wind shear Scenario based on Big Data

Wind shear, regarded as one of the most menacing meteorological phenomena during the takeoff and landing stages of aircraft, will present acute challenges to flight safety once it occurs. Nevertheless, the obtainable QAR data related to wind shear encounters are rather limited, making it difficult to effectively assess the control behaviors of pilots. Based on a large amount of full-flight simulator training data for the A320 aircraft and integrating the cognitive expertise of flight experts, this research proposes a framework for evaluating the flight control performance of pilots in wind shear scenarios. The evaluation system was established from three dimensions: timeliness, compliance, and flight attitude control. The analytic hierarchy process is used to construct the evaluation model. The effectiveness of this method is verified by comparing it with the evaluation results of instructors. Experiments have proved that the constructed model can not only objectively quantify the flight control performance of pilots, but also accurately identify the weak links in control behavior, providing data-driven decision support for personalized special scenario training.
