Multimodal Data Mining Trends, Achievements, and Challenges: Systematic Literature Review
This paper aims to analyze state-of-the-art in multimodal data mining research through a systematic literature review. It provides a documented answer on the research evolution of multimodal data mining, the methods used for multimodal data modeling, the extent to which they have been used, their advances and shortcomings. This analysis allows us to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with this emerging research area, which in turn leads to the discovery of insights that support decisions aimed at, on the one hand, sustainably solving the challenges identified and, on the other hand, identifying new areas of potential applications.
