Bioinformatics for Neurological Disorders in Saudi Arabia: Challenges, Gaps, and Strategic Opportunities
Abstract Bioinformatics has the potential to revolutionize the diagnosis and management of neurological disorders in Saudi Arabia. Despite challenges, including limited population-specific data, inadequate infrastructure, and workforce shortages, opportunities exist to advance bioinformatics in the field. Developing tailored genomic resources, leveraging artificial intelligence for neuroimaging, and creating integrated clinical systems could transform care. This perspective article highlight the critical role of collaborative research networks and emphasizes that strategic investments aligned with Vision 2030 are essential for addressing current limitations and advancing both patient care and research capacity in the Kingdom.
