DEVELOPMENT OF AN INFORMATION AND ANALYTICAL SYSTEM FOR RECORDING DESTRUCTION DUE TO RUSSIAN AGGRESSION

The article presents the development of an information and analytical system designed to document and evaluate the destruction caused by the war in Ukraine. With dozens of cities, hundreds of enterprises, and thousands of residential buildings damaged or destroyed, there is an urgent need for a centralized digital platform to collect, store, and analyze data for subsequent damage assessment and compensation. The primary objective of the project is to assist the Ukrainian government—both at the regional level and within individual communities—in identifying the areas most severely affected by Russian aggression. This, in turn, will support the formulation of a strategy for territorial restoration and redevelopment. The system is implemented as a web application based on the Single Page Application (SPA) architecture, which ensures a seamless and dynamic user experience by updating content without reloading the page. This design approach emphasizes a clear division between the front-end and back-end components, which led to the selection of separate frameworks for each part. Laravel was chosen for the server-side due to its robust security features and compatibility with PHP, making it widely supported by hosting providers. Vue.js was selected for the client-side owing to its speed and efficiency in handling user interfaces. The scientific novelty of the system lies in its integration of interactive geospatial visualization with analytical capabilities based on OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) technologies. While existing solutions often focus on single functionalities, this system combines multiple components—namely, a destruction map, analytics module, damage reporting tool, and data entry interface—within a unified platform. This integrated approach offers users the ability to perform in-depth assessments of damages at various administrative levels, from national to local. A central element of the system is its structured relational database, which relies on normalization mechanisms. This ensures efficient data management and scalability. Additionally, the system includes mechanisms for access control to differentiate user roles and permissions. Ultimately, the platform enables effective documentation and visualization of damage to social and residential infrastructure. By facilitating comprehensive data analysis and reporting, the system becomes a critical tool for governmental agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders involved in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction and planning efforts.
