ASSESSMENT OF THE CONTROLLABILITY OF A VEHICLEON THE FRONTANDREARAXLES OF WHICHTIRES ARE INSTALLEDWITHDIFFERENTCOEFFICIENTS OF WHEELADHESION TO THEROAD
Theresults of an analysis of changes in vehiclehandlingduringbothcertificationtestsand emergency maneuvers are presented. The presence of a differencein the values of the coefficient of traction between the wheels of the frontandrearaxles has been proven to affectthecar's handling. It is note-dthat the maximumchange in handlingparametersundertheconditions under consideration occurs in passengercarswith a shortbase.Acceptablechanges to thisparameter are proposed.Theresults of mathe-maticalmodeling of the effecton the controllability of cars of thetype under study are obtained notonly by the differencein the coefficient of adhesion of the frontandrearwheelsto the road, butalso by the length of the wheelbaseand the distancefrom the controlledaxleto the center of mass of the car.Thedata provided made it possible to identifysaferanges of changes in the designparameters of the machines, aswell as to determine the limits of theirpermissiblechanges.
