OPTIONS FOR INTEGRATING NAVIGATION AND TELEMATICS SYSTEMS USED IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT WITH VARIOUS INFORMATION SYSTEMS TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF URBAN PASSENGER TRANSPORT
Improving the quality of passenger service in an urban public transport system is impossible without deeply integrating information technologies both into the vehicles themselves and into adjacent areas of urban infrastructure. This article presents promising approaches for integrating navigation and telematics systems used in public transport with the information systems employed in managing urban infrastructure assets. A suite of solutions and tools aimed at elevating the level of transport service to the population is proposed. Special attention is paid to connections with digital twins, decision support systems, and the implementation of dedicated lanes. The social and economic effects are revealed, and practical aspects of implementation are examined.
