IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY OF RINGCROSSINGS IN THE VICINITY OF RAILWAYCROSSINGS

Thearticlediscusses the issues of increasing the capacityandsafety of the ringcrossingin the vicinity of the railwaycrossing,whichmayblockoneof the directionsfacingtheringcrossing for acertaintime.Thecausesofcongestionandaccidentson the ringroadwayduring the closure of the railwaycrossing are analyzed. It is notedthat a significantpart of accidentsin the area of the roundabout are inextricablylinkedwith a violation of the usualtrafficpatternsandlack of means of regulationin the changedconditions,exceeding the speed of oneof the participants in the conflict, who "missed" the change in trafficconditions.Measures are recommendedtoreduce the accident rate andmaintain the capacity of the ringcrossing.Astrategy is proposed for organizing a right-turnlaneat the entrancesto the ringintersectionand an interlacingzonealong the twoinnerlanes of the ringroadway, the effectivenessandsafety of the ringintersection.
