Abstract

The article examines the impact of global geopolitical transformations on the integration processes in Ukraine’s economy. It has been established that large-scale changes in the world order shape new directions of foreign economic policy and necessitate comprehensive adaptation of the national economy. It has been found that an important factor of integration dynamics is Ukraine’s fulfilment of its obligations under the Association Agreement with the EU. The significance and rankings of Ukraine’s economic globalisation index are considered. The importance of implementing the provisions of the Association Agreement as a mechanism for institutional renewal of the state has been determined. It has been clarified that the level of fulfilment of the association obligations in 2024 reached 81%, exceeding previous figures. It has been emphasised that the dynamics of Ukraine’s exports and imports reflect the sensitivity to external shocks and internal reforms. It has been stated that Ukraine’s export model is acquiring a raw-material character, with an increasing share of food products and a decreasing share of engineering products. A trend towards growing technological dependence in the import structure has been identified, which simultaneously indicates a demand for modernisation. Changes in the geography of Ukraine’s foreign trade have been revealed, in particular the growing role of Central and South-Eastern European countries. It has been stressed that strengthening cooperation with EU countries is essential for sustainable development. The role of investment capital as an indicator of trust in Ukraine’s economy has been underlined. The recovery of the inflow of foreign direct investment in 2023–2024 has been confirmed. Major investor countries have been identified, among which Cyprus, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and France prevail. It has been established that the current investment structure indicates a reorientation from the post-Soviet vector to the Western one. It has been found that such a transformation corresponds to the strategic course towards integration into the European area. It has been emphasised that the research results are of practical importance for improving Ukraine’s foreign economic policy. The need for further diversification of export-import flows and development of the high-tech sector has been highlighted.
