<scp>RC</scp> beam‐column element for simulating nonlinear shear‐flexural behavior

Abstract This paper presents a precise and straightforward solution for simulating the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beam‐column elements subjected to bending and shearing forces. The solution is compatible with the fiber element formulation used within object‐oriented software frameworks like OpenSees. The solution applies to both elastic and plastic deformation domains. In order to validate the effectiveness of the beam‐column element proposed, a benchmark test available in the literature has been employed.
