Problems of providing farmers with high-quality feed in conditions of territorial communities

Purpose. Analysis of the problems of providing farms and personal peasant farms (PPF) with quality feed in the conditions of territorial communities and identification of ways to overcome them, taking into account regional specifics. Methods. System analysis, monographic method, comparative analysis, statistical generalization, survey, expert questionnaire. Results. The state of development of feed production in Ukraine is highlighted in the context of farms and PPF. The study identified the main problems that hinder the effective provision of farms and peasant farms with quality feed in the context of decentralization. The dynamics of the yield of the main feed crops were analyzed by farm categories, which showed significant inter-farm differences and instability among small producers. A marketing survey of small livestock farmers confirmed limited access to resources, lack of veterinary and advisory services, weak local processing infrastructure, and uneven state support. The main problems of providing small producers of livestock products at the regional level in the context of united territorial communities were outlined. Directions for improving local feed supply policy through comprehensive support for production, cooperation, infrastructure, and services within territorial communities were substantiated. Conclusions. Key obstacles to providing farmers with quality feed were identified: limited access to resources and agro-services, lack of modern equipment and processing infrastructure. Yield analysis and the results of a survey of small producers confirmed the unevenness of technological support and the need for support from the state and communities. Directions for the development of local feed production were proposed, including stimulating cooperation, upgrading infrastructure, and developing advisory and veterinary services.
