Storage efficiency and quality indicators of winter grains green mass

Purpose. To investigate the indicators of green mass of winter grain crops when preservatives are added. Methods. In the process of research, general scientific methods: zootechnical, technological, laboratory, chemical analysis of feed, statistical, analytical were used. Results. The use of the preservative “Microbial preservative for haylage” ISMAV NAAS at a dose of 2.5 l/t of working solution in experimental variants allowed the green mass of the silage rye hybrid to accumulate and increase the amount of organic acids by 11.2%, with a better accumulation of the amount of lactic acid by 0.86%, the pH value was 4.34 compared to the control. In haylage made of green-cut rye, an increase in organic acids by 36.48% and lactic acid by 76.6% was noted, the pH level was 4.79 compared to the control indicator. In haylage from earlyripening winter triticale laid with the experimental preservatives ISMAV NAAS and Bonsilage Alpha, the amount of organic acids was slightly lower compared to the control, but an increase in the amount of lactic acid by 5.04 and 29.41% was observed, the pH value was at the level of 4.61 and 4.52. When harvesting lateripening winter triticale, the accumulation of the same amount of organic acids was noted, but with an increase in the amount of lactic acid by 25.75 and 21.21% in samples with preservatives. In haylage samples from lateripening winter triticale laid with the experimental preservatives ISMAV NAAS and Bonsilage Alpha, the pH value was 4.74 and 5.04 compared to the control. Conclusions. The preservatives introduced into the experimental samples of green mass of rye and triticale accelerated the process of ripening of the haylage mass, which contributed to a better accumulation of organic acids and the course of lactic acid fermentation. The organoleptic evaluation showed that the haylage met the quality indicators according to the State Standard of Ukraine 4684:2006 “Haylage. Technical conditions”.
