Study of the feeding value of wet corn grain with addition of lactic and propionic acid bacteria

Purpose. To study the main technological parameters of the action of lactic and propionic acid bacteria during the preparation of wet corn grain for long-term storage. Methods. To determine the technological indicators of corn mass maturation during the laying process, it is necessary to use general scientific methods: zootechnical (laying and conducting scientific experiments, establishing the nutritional value of ration feeds), technological, laboratory, chemical analysis of feeds according to generally accepted methods, statistical (biometric materials), analytical. Results. Using lactic acid and propionic acid bacteria at a dose of 1 and 2 grams/ton on diluted dry milk, a productive preservative effect was obtained, in particular, in experimental variants II and III, a slight acidification to pH 5.5-5.6 was observed, the amount of ammonia nitrogen in the feed was 16.8%, and the total (titrated) acidity was within 1.02-1.06%. In the preserved grain of the experimental samples, the amount of lactic acid increased from 62.8 to 72.9 (by 16.1%). Thus, preserving whole corn grain with biological dry and soluble preservatives based on strains of lactic acid and propionic acid bacteria is an effective technological method for increasing the activity of the preservative and reducing the loss of nutrients, in particular, soluble sugars after 45 days of storage of ensiled corn grain. Conclusions. Ensiling wet corn grain with compositions of lactic acid and propionic acid bacteria in an aqueous solution of skimmed milk powder enriched with trace elements increases the protein value of the feed from 6.55 to 7.92%, which led to an increase in the energy value of wet ensiled grain to 12.49-12.51 MJ/kg of dry matter, or by 0.3-0.5%, due to the accumulation of protein fractions. At the same time, the net lactation energy of canned feed increased by 1.8 and 2.8%, respectively.
